    Jonathan Bell
    Chairman, Chief Investment Officer and Chief Executive Officer
    Prior to founding Cape Ann, Jonathan spent three years at Nomura Asset Management (2012-2015) as Head of Developing Market Equities where he was lead manager of the Emerging Market Fund and Frontier Fund as well as the team manager. Before joining Nomura, he spent nine years at Pictet Asset Management (2002-2011) in London and Hong Kong, where he was most recently the lead manager for Asia within the GEM team and ran segregated GEM portfolios for institutional accounts. Prior to Pictet, he worked as a TMT industry analyst for Pyramid Research, a global consultancy with an emerging markets focus. He also spent two years working with the United Nations Development Program in Belize, Central America. Jonathan holds an MBA from Emory and an MA in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy.

    Jacqueline Mantle
    Investment Manager
    Prior to joining as a founding partner at Cape Ann, Jacqueline was an investment manager in the Developing Markets team at Nomura Asset Management (2014-2015). She focussed primarily on Asian markets. Previously, she was an investment analyst at Henderson Asset Management (2009-2014). Jacqueline initially trained as an accountant and completed her CIMA qualifications while serving as a business development manager in Asia with Jardine Matheson. Jacqueline is a CFA® Charterholder and graduated from Cambridge University with an honours in History.

    Rainer Tilk
    Investment Manager
    Prior to joining as a founding partner at Cape Ann, Rainer was an investment manager in the Developing Markets team at Nomura Asset Management (2013-2015) with an initial focus on Eastern Europe. Before working at Nomura, Rainer worked for Swedbank Robur (2009-2012) and Hansa Investment Funds (2008-2009) in Estonia, where he managed funds with exposure to Eastern Europe, the Baltic States and Central Asia. He studied finance at Tulane University.

    Ivana Vilicnik
    Investment Manager
    Prior to joining Cape Ann in 2016, Ivana was most recently a senior investment manager in the Asia ex-Japan team at Pictet Asset Management (2007 – 2016). Before assuming her latest role she was part of the Global Emerging Markets team, initially focusing on Eastern Europe, and then moving on to lead investments in GEM real estate and industrials, as well managing institutional segregated mandates. Ivana holds a MSc in European Business from the Technical University of Berlin and the Cass Business School in London, where she also obtained her BSc in Business Studies. She holds the Investment Management Certificate.


    Anna Chen
    Investment Analyst
    Prior to joining Cape Ann in 2017, Anna was an investor relations manager at Mitie Group Plc (2014-2017), where she was responsible for all investor related communications. Before her IR role at Mitie, Anna was group strategy manager responsible for the analysis of long term trends, customer requirements and competitive dynamics. In addition to her corporate experience, Anna has had more than 5 years of sell side research experience in Industrials and Real Estate at BAML and Deutsche Bank. Anna holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of New South Wales. Anna is a CFA® Charterholder.

    Pete Lockey
    Chief Operating Officer & Chief Compliance Officer
    Pete oversees all operational elements of Cape Ann. Prior to joining Cape Ann as a founding partner, Pete has worked for Silchester (2006-2008), Highclere International Investors (2008-2013) and most recently at Insight Investment (part of The Bank of New York Mellon) (2013-2015) in a variety of Operations based management roles. Before moving into Operations, Pete worked as a Management Consultant for Accenture (2005-2006) in their Financial Services team. Pete holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Durham.


    John Lynch
    Head of Marketing & Client Services
    John oversees the institutional marketing and client service efforts for Cape Ann. Prior to joining in 2016, he was a founding partner at Chautauqua Capital Management (2010-2016), a global equity boutique, where he led marketing, consultant relations, client relations and also served as Chief Operating Officer. Before joining Chautauqua, he spent six years at Franklin Templeton Investments (2004-2009) where he was an Institutional Portfolio Manager focussing on global equity and multi-asset strategies. Before that, John worked at Merrill Lynch (1999-2004), BGI (1997-1999) and Scudder, Stevens & Clark (1989-1997) serving in a number of capacities relating to institutional investment and pension management. John holds an MBA from the University of Denver and a BA in Geology from Denison University. John is a CFA® Charterholder.
